Engraving technique called relief, on lino; the linoleum is scratched using tools called gouges according to a prepared drawing; anything that is removed from the plate, that is, hollowed out, will not exist on the print at the time of printing. The ink is deposited on the remaining relief, hence its name in relief engraving.
